Holly Bruce has been promoted to Financial Services Representative Manager at the Lebanon Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Since joining our bank, Holly has quickly mastered the skills associated with the FSR position,” said Beavers. “Her 10 years of prior retail experience are evidenced by Holly’s ability to provide excellent customer service. She has also excelled in referrals and product sales, and she has earned Chairman’s Cup status this past quarter.”

Before joining First Freedom, Bruce previously worked as a Patient Support Specialist for a healthcare company. She earned her Bachelors in Exercise Science with a concentration in fitness and wellness from Tennessee Tech University in 2016.

A native of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Bruce currently resides in Bethpage with her son Ryker.

Ladell Medley, Vice President and Cookeville-Algood Office Manager, was presented with the Senator Tommy Burks Award in recognition of his commitment to community and education.

Medley has been in the banking industry for thirty-five years, and he has been with First Freedom Bank since the addition of the Upper Cumberland offices in 2016. He is a life-long resident of Putnam County and a current member of the Breakfast Rotary Club of Cookeville.

Amanda Culbert has been promoted to Personal Banker at the Providence Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Amanda joined us in 2019 as a part-time FSR pursuing her college degree. She has progressed through the FSR levels and most recently served as FSR Manager. Amanda is only one of a few FSRs to earn Chairman’s Cup status while working as a part-time associate,” said Beavers. “She possesses excellent customer service skills and is a valued member of the Providence Office team.”

Culbert has been with First Freedom since March of 2019. She graduated from Cumberland University this year with her B.S. in Accounting. While attending Cumberland, she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and previously served as the group’s Vice President of Finance in 2020. Culbert is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Collegiate Honor Society Gamma Beta Phi, and the National Academic Greek Honor society Gamma Sigma Alpha.

A native of Mt. Juliet, Culbert currently resides in Lebanon with her daughter.

Courtney Keller has been promoted to Personal Banker at the Lebanon Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking. Keller previously served as Financial Services Manager at the Providence Office.

“Since joining our bank, Courtney quickly mastered each of the FSR levels and progressed to the FSR Manager position. She is one of only a few FSRs that were able to achieve Chairman’s Cup status in her first quarter of employment,” said Beavers. “Courtney is a real team player and possesses excellent customer service skills. She will be a great addition to our Lebanon Office.”

Keller graduated in December 2019 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with her B.S. in Early Childhood: Child and Family Studies. While there, she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and served as the sorority’s Vice President of Standards and Values. She was involved with several non-profits during her college career.

While in her prior role at the Providence Office, Keller was an ambassador for the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce. 

Keller resides in her hometown of Lebanon and is a member of Water’s Edge.

First Freedom is excited to display the 2021 4-H County Piggy Bank Competition winners at the Gainesboro Office. Donations raised through the competition went toward the youth that handcrafted a piggy bank for junior and senior high categories.

First Freedom was also a sponsor of the competition.

First Freedom Bank was a sponsor for the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce’s 12th Annual Open Bass Tournament. The event was held on April 11th at Old Hickory Lake. Proceeds from this event go toward scholarships for one female and one male student in Wilson County.

Meagan Roberts has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative at the Providence Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Meagan brings a considerable amount of prior retail experience, along with possessing excellent customer service skills,” said Beavers. “She will be a great addition to our Providence Office.”

Roberts has previously worked in the retail, food, and hospitality sectors. As a result of her prior experience, she is well versed in delivering quality customer service. Roberts is a 2019 graduate of Lebanon High School.

A life-long resident of Wilson County, Roberts currently lives in Lebanon. She is a member of His Will Baptist Church.

Jessica Templeton has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

First Freedom Bank is proud to announce promotions for four of its officers. Each of these promotions are well-deserved and further demonstrate First Freedom’s strategy to promote from within.

Sarah Poss, Providence Office Manager and Marketing Officer, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Poss has served in several important capacities since joining the bank as a Financial Services Representative (FSR) in 2015. She has served as an FSR Manager, a Personal Banker, Training Coordinator, Branch Audit Examiner, and Marketing Specialist. In January of 2018, Poss was promoted to Bank Officer and served as our Marketing Officer. In September of 2019, she was promoted to Providence Office Manager and continued to function as the bank’s Marketing Officer.

A graduate of Watertown High School, Poss earned a B.S. in Anthropology with a minor in Latin-American Studies from MTSU in 2014. She is active in both the Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce and the Mt. Juliet Chamber. Poss is also a member and newsletter editor of the Wilson County Beekeepers Association and she volunteers with the Wilson County Books from Birth Program. Born in Michigan, Sarah moved with her family to Watertown when she was in elementary school and still resides there with her husband, Justin, and daughter, Sylvia.

Rebecca Jennings, Bank Officer and Credit Analyst, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Jennings has spent a significant time in the finance, retail, and commercial divisions of the bank. She began her career with First Freedom in July of 2017 as a part-time FSR in the Providence Office. She moved to full time status in May of 2018 upon her graduation from college. In August of 2019, Rebecca was promoted to Bank Officer and served as the bank’s Credit Analyst.

A graduate of Wilson Central High School, Jennings earned Summa Cum Laude honors with her B.B.A in Accounting from Cumberland University with a perfect 4.0 GPA. While at Cumberland, she received the Most Outstanding Performance Award in Accounting and was a member of several prestigious academic honor societies such as Alpha Lambda Delta, Delta Mu Delta, and Alpha Chi. She also served as Treasurer of the College Republicans Club and was a member of the local chapter of Campus Ministry International. Most recently, Jennings has passed all four exams to obtain her CPA license and is currently completing courses to be licensed. She and her husband, Christian, attend Grace United Methodist Church.

Ryan Woodall, Bank Officer and Relationship Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Woodall joined First Freedom in November of 2019 after serving with a regional bank in the area.  While working with a regional bank, Woodall completed a comprehensive bank management program and was involved in the opening of a new office in a neighboring county. Since joining First Freedom, he has spent a significant amount of time in credit analysis and has been functioning as a very effective Relationship Manager.

A graduate of Friendship Christian School, Woodall earned a B.S. in Political Science from Tennessee Tech. He returned to graduate school as a working adult and received his MBA from Cumberland University in 2017. While at Cumberland, he was a member in the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. Woodall currently resides in Lebanon with his wife Mary, a teacher with the Lebanon Special School District.

Kayla Ring, Bank Officer and Construction Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Ring started with First Freedom Bank as an FSR in 2013 before quickly being named FSR Manager that same year. In 2015, Kayla was named Construction Specialist and began managing building contractor relationships. She was elevated to Bank Officer and Construction Manager in January of 2018.

A graduate of Wilson Central High School, Ring has taken a number of banking management courses through the Tennessee Bankers Association, including Global Cash Flow Analysis for Underwriters, Residential Construction Lending, Writing Credit Memorandums, and Essentials of Commercial Lending. She currently resides in Bethpage with her husband, Michael, and son, Aiden. They are members of Fellowship Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet.

First Freedom Bank has promoted Kailey Wood to full-time Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Kailey has adapted very well to the financial services sector since joining us a year ago. She has worked part time for us while attending college on a full-time basis, demonstrating the ability to balance school and work,” said Beavers. “We are very pleased to have Kailey as a full-time FSR at the Cookeville Office.”

Wood has worked as a part-time Financial Services Representative at the Cookeville office for the past year while pursuing her finance degree at Tennessee Tech. She is on track to graduate in December of this year. While at Tech, she has earned TTU’s Highflyer’s Scholarship for Academic Achievement and she has made the Dean’s List.

A native of McMinnville, Wood remains very active in youth sports in her hometown. She has coached multiple boys’ and girls’ teams in basketball and softball. While she continues to spend time in McMinnville to continue her work in the community, she currently lives in Cookeville.

Kasey Johnston has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative at the Mt. Juliet Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

Prior to joining First Freedom, Johnston spent time working in administration in the accounting industry, as well a year in the retail sector. She is a 2018 graduate of Wilson Central High School.

Kimberly Cantrell has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“We are pleased to have Kimberly as a new addition to our main office,” said Beavers. “She brings a lot of prior retail experience and possesses excellent customer service skills.”

Cantrell previously worked as a manager in the retail sector for eight years before joining First Freedom. She is a 2009 graduate of Warren County High School. Cantrell is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and has assisted in three hurricane relief missions.

Cantrell is a native of McMinnville, Tennessee. She and her husband, Tanner, are expecting their first child, Levi, in April.

MaKayla Ramsey has been promoted to Financial Services Representative Manager at the Algood Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“MaKayla has been a great addition to our team of already talented bankers in the Cookeville/Algood markets,” said Beavers. “She provides excellent customer service levels that have helped us grow relationships with new and existing customers. Makayla’s experience lends itself well to the daily operations of the office and ensures that operational, safety and soundness goals are met.”

Ramsey joined First Freedom in May of 2017 as a Financial Services Representative (FSR) at the Cookeville Office. As an FSR, she was often a member of Chairman’s Cup, a bank-lead contest to recognize high performers in that role.  Ramsey had previous experience in the financial industry, having served as a Customer Service Representative at a credit union. In December of 2015, she earned her bachelor’s in psychology from Tennessee Tech University.

Ramsey is an active member of her church, serving on the finance committee, volunteering as the treasurer’s assistant, assisting the women’s ministries, and helping the church’s worship team.

A native of Smithville, Tennessee, she currently resides in Algood with her husband, Landon, and her daughter, Lydia Lou. They attend Cookeville Church of the Nazarene.

Phillip Vance has been promoted to Vice President at First Freedom Bank, announced John Lancaster, Chairman and CEO. Vance will continue to serve as a Relationship Manager.

“Phillip is a great banker and we’re proud to have him representing First Freedom,” said Lancaster.  “He understands the value and importance of business owners having a strong relationship with their banker and he is always eager to bring solutions to their problems.”  

Vance began his career with First Freedom Bank directly after completing his degree in 2014. He graduated from Tennessee Tech University with honors and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Since joining the bank, he has completed The Southeastern School of Commercial Lending and Advanced Commercial Lending programs through Tennessee Bankers Association. Vance has been accepted into the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania for 2021.

In addition to his educational pursuits, Vance has also made it a priority to be an active volunteer in the community. He is currently a board member for United Way of Wilson County and Upper Cumberland, a four-year Chairman of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament, and a current member and prior board member of the Lebanon Breakfast Rotary Club. Beginning in 2021, Vance will step into the role of board member for the Lebanon / Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.

Vance continues to live in his hometown of Lebanon with his wife, Emily, and two children, Hazel and Porter. They attend Maple Hill Church of Christ.

First Freedom hosted a hospitality tent and had a team at the annual Mt. Juliet Chamber Golf Tournament on Thursday, October 1st, at Pine Creek Golf Course. All proceeds of the tournament benefit the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce.

The First Freedom team placed second in their flight.

Courtney Keller has been promoted to Financial Services Representative Manager at the Providence Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking. Keller had joined the bank earlier this year as a Financial Services Representative at the same office.  

“Since joining the team at our Providence Office, Courtney has excelled and quickly mastered each of the FSR positions that are required to be an FSR manager. She also achieved Chairman’s Cup status within her first six months with the bank,” said Beavers. “Courtney has been a great addition to the Providence Office.”

Keller graduated in December 2019 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with her B.S. in Early Childhood: Child and Family Studies. While there, she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and served as the sorority’s Vice President of Standards and Values. She was involved with several non-profits and was most recently employed as a Nashville Regional Field Development Intern at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Keller resides in her hometown of Lebanon and is a member of Water’s Edge.
