First Freedom recognized eight employees in the first quarter and seven employees in the second quarter for exceptional job performance and exceeding their individual goals for enhancing and broadening customer relationships. Their outstanding performance earned them the prestigious honor of Chairman’s Cup Member for the quarter. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, these employees were unable to meet as a group to celebrate, but their success remains an impressive reminder that even in the middle of a pandemic they are committed to going above and beyond.  

The qualifying employees for the first quarter were Blair Kirkland, Providence FSR Manager, Amanda Culbert, Providence FSR, Bryan Sweet, Cookeville FSR Manager, Abby Hernandez, Cookeville FSR, MaKayla Ramsey, Algood FSR Manager, Kaitlyn Kovalchik, Cookeville FSR, Rebecca Birman, Gainesboro FSR, and Sara Beth Davenport, Gainesboro FSR.

The qualifying employees for the second quarter were Karen Elmore, Lebanon FSR Manager, Courtney Keller, Providence FSR, Blair Kirkland, Providence FSR Manager, Kaitlyn Kovalchik, Cookeville FSR, Abby Hernandez, Cookeville FSR, Cheyenne Collier, Cookeville FSR, and MaKayla Ramsey, Algood FSR Manager.

The Lebanon/Wilson County, Mt. Juliet, and Watertown Chambers of Commerce have launched a new program, TennCommUNITY, to support and promote local businesses in Wilson County. This is a six-month initiative that will run through the end of the year. First Freedom Bank is very excited to be a part of this as we feel this can create real, positive change in our community. We have always known the value in supporting our community and, by extension, our neighbors, and our friends. This program embodies that fundamental concept of community support that we have always held as a cornerstone of our mission.

John Hawkins, Assistant Vice President and Portfolio Manager, volunteered to work with the Wilson County Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) during their 5th annual golf tourney. This event was held at Pine Creek Golf Course on July 17th.

FCA encourages coaches and athletes to serve their communities and to make an impact in the world through Jesus Christ.

Blair Kirkland has been promoted to Personal Banker at the Providence Office, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Since joining us, Blair has shown the ability to grow and progress with our bank. She started as an FSR in February of 2019 and then moved on to the FSR Manager role in January 2020,” said Beavers. “The amazing thing is that Blair was able to accomplish these achievements while completing her degree in accounting at MTSU. She was the clear choice to fill the Personal Banker position at the Providence Office.”

She is currently attending Middle Tennessee State University with plans to graduate this December with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration.

A native of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Kirkland now resides in Lebanon. Kirkland and her fiancé, Austin, will be marrying in October of this year.

First Freedom Bank’s Gainesboro office won first place in Walk Across Tennessee, a University of Tennessee Extension program. In partnership with the Jackson County Health Department, Walk Across Tennessee took place this spring and boasted 19 teams with 76 participants. The Gainesboro Office took the lead with 4,003 miles walked.

Kathleen Vincion-Sadlowski has been promoted to FSR Manager at the Mt. Juliet Office, announced Kenny Beaver, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Kathleen is a great example of how hard work, commitment, and dedication allows someone to grow with our bank,” said Beavers. “She started in January of 2018 as a part-time FSR, was promoted to a full-time FSR in November 2018, and is now being promoted to FSR Manager in June 2020. Kathleen is a valued member of our team at the Mt. Juliet Office.”

Vincion-Sadlowski has been working at the Mt. Juliet location for more than two years, most recently in the capacity of a Financial Services Representative II. Before joining First Freedom, Vincion was employed in the food service industry. She is a 2017 graduate of Wilson Central.

A native of Gladeville, Vincion-Sadlowski currently resides in Lebanon with her husband, Darren. She is a volunteer with the Mt. Juliet Senior Center’s “Bingocize” program and is a member of Fellowship Baptist.

Tori Bennett has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“We are excited to have Tori as the newest member of our team at the Main Office location. She is a lifelong resident of Wilson County and possesses excellent customer service skills,” said Beavers.

Bennett’s experience from her prior position as a third-party billing specialist in the health care industry gives her a unique and understanding perspective from which to aid her customers. She studied criminal justice at Middle Tennessee State University.

Bennett resides in her hometown of Watertown and is a member of Poplar Hill Baptist Church.

Alexis Roney has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“We are happy to have Alexis as a new member of the First Freedom team,” said Beavers. “She always greets everyone with a warm smile and a friendly hello. She strives to provide excellent customer service to each customer.”

Before joining First Freedom, Roney held a variety of roles, from working in the family business and the childcare industry, to operating her own woodworking business. She is a 2017 graduate of Excel Online Highschool. Roney completed an Introduction to Banking course through the Tennessee Bankers Association in February of this year.

Roney currently resides in her hometown of Lebanon. She is a member of Joy Church.

Courtney Keller has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“Courtney has been a great addition to the already talented team of bankers at the Providence Office,” said Beavers. “She possesses excellent customer service skills and has really embraced the First Freedom culture. Courtney’s prior experience in the retail sector, along with her desire to serve and give back to the community, made her a perfect fit for our bank.”

Keller graduated in December 2019 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with her B.S. in Early Childhood: Child and Family Studies. While there, she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and served as the sorority’s Vice President of Standards and Values. She was involved with several non-profits and was most recently employed as a Nashville Regional Field Development Intern at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Keller resides in her hometown of Lebanon and is a member of The Bridge Fellowship.

Georgie Calhoun has joined First Freedom Bank as a Financial Services Representative, announced Kenny Beavers, Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.

“We are excited to have Georgie as a member of the Main Office team,” said Beavers. “She brings a lot of prior banking and retail management experience with her, along with excellent customer service skills.”

Calhoun joins First Freedom with several years of banking experience under her belt, having worked in the industry for a little more than three years. Most recently, she was employed in the restaurant industry as a general manager for the past five years.  

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Calhoun now resides in Mt. Juliet and is a member of The Church at Pleasant Grove. She has one daughter and two sons.

Justin Mauldin has been promoted to Bank Officer and Deposit Operations Assistant Manager, announced John Lancaster, Chairman and CEO.


“Justin is a quality employee and continues to make a significant contribution to our Deposit Operations Department. We are pleased to promote him to Bank Officer and look forward to watching him continue his growth in our company,” stated Lancaster.


Mauldin joined First Freedom in August of 2016 as a Deposit Operations Clerk. He had previously worked at a regional bank as a Financial Services Representative. Mauldin also had several years of retail management experience before joining the financial industry.


In 2017, Mauldin was awarded with the First Freedom Internal Service award due to providing the best service specifically to his fellow employees. That same year, he graduated from Leadership Opportunity of Smith County. Mauldin then went on to become a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) in December of 2018.


Mauldin currently resides in Carthage with his family. He is a counselor for Jackson-Smith County Youth Camp, a position he has held each summer since 2009, and is the Youth Minister for Carthage Church of Christ.

First Freedom’s Gainesboro Office ran a school supply drive to benefit Jackson County Middle School. This collection was in conjunction with a donation for the school’s 2019 supply drive, which strove to eliminate the need for students to purchase their own supplies.

Laura Morris has been promoted to Vice President, announced John Lancaster, Chairman and CEO. Morris will continue to manage and oversee all aspects of the Loan Operations Department.

“Laura has earned every ounce of this promotion.  We are excited about her management and the future of our Loan Operations Department.  She is a great example of our intent to promote from within and we are pleased to honor her in this way,” stated Lancaster.  

Morris started with First Freedom in November of 2011 as a Financial Services Representative in the Mt. Juliet office. As a result of her interest in loans and background in accounting, she was promoted to Loan Operations in December 2012.  In 2016, Morris was promoted to Loan Operations Supervisor and in 2017, she was elevated to Operations Officer and Manager.  In 2018, Morris was promoted to Assistant Vice President with full authority of managing the Loan Operations department.

Morris has been in the banking industry for 31 years. She holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Everest College. Originally from Portland, Tennessee, Morris resides in Old Hickory. She has one son, Spencer, and is the grandmother to three grandchildren with another due in April.
